Fishes

So as an English teacher, I am aware that there is no plural for "fish," but we did see lots of them at the Aquarium in New Orleans the other day. We celebrated our last "official" day of freedom by taking Tris to her birthplace. We've never been to an aquarium with her before, so it was fun for all...an added bonus = NOT outside in 100 degree heat!

Loved the tunnel and seeing the sting rays gliding over our heads!

Somehow we seem to be coming up with this "funny face" pose quite frequently. I have a feeling this will reappear in any serious and reflective family shots we try to take in the future, so don't be shocked if our Christmas card looks like this.

side note: did you know that male sea-horses are the ones who give birth? Seems like a swell idea to me right about now!

Bribed her with gum to get her to do "real" smile on the frog :)

Scoping out the white alligator with daddy. His favorite exhibit! Too bad he didn't wear his "choot em'" t-shirt to commemorate the occasion.

More "funny face."

Posed all on her own on top of Shamu. I promise we are not grooming her for Toddlers and Tiaras.

Crawling into the "fishy tunnel" We had to promise her that she would not get wet!

Watching the shark "movie." (it was just the shark tank, but it was dark and there was theatre seating, Tris instructed us to sit for at least 5 minutes until she discovered that she could swing like a monkey on the railings on the side of the seats.)

And of course, we couldn't leave New Orleans without our fav- a Hansen's snowball. OH. MY. WORD. You really have not had a truly good snowball until you have had theirs. The ice is perfect!!!

No more "funny face"....just "stuffing my face" :)
