Going Global

In spite of B not feeling too hot this past weekend (we ended up missing a friend's wedding Friday night :( we attempted to carry on for Saturday. We had been planning for a while to go down and visit Mammaw Ballard (Brian's maternal grandmother) and we decided to throw in a trip to Global Wildlife Center which is not too far from her house.

We told Trissy we had a surprise for her, and when she woke up from her nap she was sooo excited! Can't you just see it in that smile? ;)

Here's this enthused look as we waited for the "choo-choo" to depart. She is holding our animal food cup. Please note that the blue bucket in the background is a group of people who purchased the entire bucket of food. wow.

It's really like the zoo comes to you! Here's a bunch of deer (who have a fancier african deer name that I can't remember right now)

Here's Trissy's little red bow sticking out as she looks at all the animals we have left in our wake.

And then there was the camel. Tris was NOT a fan of the camel!!
Mainly because he stuck his head up INSIDE the wagon! Greedy camel. Did you know that camels don't really store water in their humps? They just can go a really really long time without. I think somewhere my third grade education failed me on that one.

She did love to throw food out to the deer.

"Bambi! Come get yer fooooood!"
Then there are the zebras. Apparently they bite, so we were not allowed to let them eat out of our hands or cups.

Check out this dude! I think they said he was a cross between a Texas longhorn and some type of African cattle. He was scratching his horns on the side of the wagon!

Brian and Tris threw out our remaining food to the deer at the end of the ride.

It was a HOT afternoon, but overall we loved Global and had so much fun!
