Easter recap

OK, ok I told you all that I am catching up....just one month behind, right?? But we had so many cute pictures from Easter that I just wanted to share!! We stared off our weekend with Tristyn's first egg-dyeing experience. She did really well, except that she got a bit zealous with the yellow egg and "forcefully" placed in down on the granite countertops. :) whoops! Our egg kit came with funny-face stickers, so we had a great time with those too.

Showing off the finished product with Honey!

Saturday morning, we went to our church's easter egg hunt. Here I am looking quite like an Easter egg myself as we wait for the hunt for Trissy's age group to begin :)

Daddy even helped her find a few up high!

She was really concerned that "there's nothing in there!" and wanted to stop hunting, but we assured her that you could turn in your eggs for a prize at the end.

Showing off our prizes after the hunt- carrot bubbles, some nerds, and bunny-shaped marshmellows.

Apparently pooped from the hunt and contemplating life.

Cute family pic of all four of us! Next year, Avery Kate will be in on the action too (sort of!)

They also had lots of other fun activities for the kids like bunny sack races, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, coloring, and this parachute. Here's Tris with her best bud Jackson.

And of course we couldn't leave out making some sweet treats! Tris brought these to her class party earlier in the week. She helped make and cut out the cookies, but mommy decorated :) (I promise I will give up my OCD-ness one day!)

While she was napping, I made these cute little marshmellow sheep for she and her cousins. They are made out of Milano cookies, and white chocolate to stick on the marshmellows. You know...the more sugar the better!!

After nap, we decided to go ahead and let her open her Easter basket! She got a Belle t-shirt, a princess coloring pad, and this lovely FurReal Kitty Cat who purrs and meows and walks. We have also discovered that the FurReal kitty also "really" sheds! Yippee.

We did a craft project outside at our picnic table to make something special for the grandparents.

The finished product!

The one thing that we didn't do was to do Resurrection Eggs or bake Resurrection cookies. We definitely emphasized that Easter was about celebrating Jesus, but it is still kind of hard to get the concept of death for our sins across to a 2-year-old. I am excited about next year though and being able to teach her more and more about her Savior!!
